We address to you with the request for the help
It is a question of the good girl - Irina Mitina (28 years old), the beauty, the sportswoman. On October 27, 2008 Irina has got to road accident (passenger). As a result she has received heavy physical injuries, damages of cervical vertebras С3-С6, fragmental damages of a spinal cord. On October 28 she has been operated in First aid Hospital, the fourth cervical vertebra was replaced into cage. By estimations of doctors, for a moment after operation practically there are no chances for life (she couldn’t even breathe independently). But after long months of resuscitation, she has survived. With similar high damage of a spinal cord in Ukraine there are no survived girls!!! Death rate of women in similar cases in times exceeds death rate of men. In Ukraine similar people simply die from collateral complications which can be avoided easily at correct care, experience and equipment. Our medicine has no base for struggle against such severity of injury. Medicine level in this question below the level of the USA of 60-ies, there are no experts, equipment, correct care.
At the moment Ira is in the rehabilitation centre for spinal invalids "Guta".
From the moment of injury about 800 thousand hrivnias were spent – for operation, medicines and rehabilitation. She has no financing for treatment, no relatives, except for mother pensioner (60 years old) who has refused to take care of her daughter!!! There is nobody to help her.
Now it is nearly 30 thousand hrivnias monthly, and ears of treatment are ahead. There is no place to take her away from the centre, she has no place to live, she is alone and helpless.
Now her condition is satisfactory, she gradually gets stronger, doctors help her in physiotherapy exercises each day. Hands, feet do not work, she cannot live without assistance. But by forecasts of rehabilitation doctors progress on rehabilitation is present and there will be positive results during 3 – 5 years. The main thing is not to interrupt treatment and rehabilitation. Without care and rehabilitation she will simply die.
Ira asks you to help her to cope with this trouble with which she struggles, making all efforts daily. She has to overcome daily pain, spasms, depression in order to move millimeter by millimetre. It is the request to render feasible help in treatment and rehabilitation. We’re not talking about expensive treatment in Israel or the USA where only there similar cases are treated effectively. At least to continue rehabilitation in the centre or sanatorium named after Pirogov. (There is good base for rehabilitation and restoration of seriously ill patients, rooms for mechanotherapy for working out of hands and feet etc. in this sanatorium).
Earlier on Ira addressed to Ekaterina Yushchenko's fund “Ukraine 3000” and other funds, addressed to the Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Health, but they answered that they give assistance only to children, poors and large families. (And how about those who have no family, there are no hands, there are no feet who has lost everything, and by another's fault? It is not fair!).
Do not ignore Ira, help her. You can see Ira and communicate with her. Maybe somebody will have an opportunity to pay for her treatment directly to the centre, buy medicines, Ira will be grateful for that.
